CHLOE BRACHT

Design
While Graphic Design and Illustrations often look different and often involve different techniques, I treat both approaches the same. I break down the key parts of what's needed, often limiting color and making clear composition. I love to play with contrast and the challenge that comes with solving creative problems, especially when working with limited imagery and colors.
Poster Designs

These are some examples of how I simplify designs to emphasize shape and modernize designs. I like to make sure the color pallet is limited and distinct, with extra care to adjust for both digital and screen printing. I also wanted to make sure that the identity of the event and company would be clear through careful consideration of text and imagery.
Mixed Media

These are examples of designs that have more elements involving photo and textures. The middle one in particular has a collage effect with multiple sketches, illustrations, textures, and images emphasizing the chaotic nature of the creation process presented.
Illustrations

This is the front cover of an A1 poster I designed. Its about my thought process and planning of a character concept I had been working on at the time, and I wanted the cover to emphasize the 'rough draft' quality throughout the
whole poster.

This piece was based off of an image I had seen from a friend of mine. I recreated it from memory, emphasizing the key features that stuck out to me. I also wanted to play with color contrast, having the hair and eyes being the key features I wanted to focus on.
This piece was inspired by my trip to New Zealand, and represents the effect human hands have on the earth. The symbols are the representees of the Sky Father, Forest, Earth Mother, and the Sea gods. These were imagery that I had first witnessed when I arrived, and they've stuck with me since.
This piece was inspired by images of tigers with golden teeth and the trend of Chinese illustrations of tigers having the 'king' symbol on their head. I also wanted to limit my pallet to one I found online, giving myself an extra challenge to make sure my ideas show through even with the limited colors.
